Northern Wide Plank, a Canadian manufacturer of artisan-crafted engineered wide plank flooring, wall cladding, stair treads, nosing, and vents, proudly introduces four new smoked colours that expand its celebrated, Iconic collection of Northern American white oak. Developed through a natural oxidation process, these hardwoods draw out the oak’s inherent tannins, deepening tone, enriching grain, and revealing a complexity that cannot be replicated with pigment alone.

The result is a collection shaped by nature’s chemistry, layered with one-of-a-kind colours that enhance the organic beauty of every plank. Each smoked colour embodies Northern Wide Plank’s philosophy of respecting the wood as a natural material, elevating it through a process that honours its integrity and natural beauty.

“We believe true innovation comes from listening to our clients,” says John Nagtzaam, National Sales Manager at Northern Wide Plank. “By working with the oak’s natural tannins, these smoked products unlock an extraordinary depth of colour and texture, creating organic variations that feel genuine and that design professionals and homeowners won’t find anywhere else.”

The New Smoked Collection

Each of the four smoked products expresses the smoking process in its own distinct way, offering a palette that is both versatile and timeless.

Crafted from North American white oak, its sanded surface and natural oil finish evoke a subtle, timeworn elegance that mirrors the calm, organic spirit of its namesake.
