In response to growing demand for engineered wood flooring and changing consumer preferences and trends, Northern Wide Plank (NWP) has introduced five new colours. This release marks NWP’s first new colours after nearly two years, marking a notable product expansion for the brand. The latest additions include five selections from their Iconic Collection, made from North American white oak.

NWP colour designer Andrew Peebles states, “The reasoning behind our selection of these new colours extends beyond the visual appeal. Each product offers a unique approach to align with the anticipated trends in the industry. Warm, rich tones are gaining prominence, and our palette reflects a foresight into what our customers are seeking in contemporary design. We aim not just to meet but to surpass expectations, providing an array of colours that resonate with the evolving narrative of interior aesthetics.” He continues, “Another element that drives us, is to continually create some of the most natural looking and unique colours. A large part of this process that no one sees is the amount of testing we do for our products, to ensure it’s stable and will last the test of time.”

The first of the new colours, Berkshire, stands out with its smooth-surfaced white oak, artfully capturing the natural beauty of the Berkshires. This colour exhibits a harmonious blend of light to mid-tone brown with golden undertones, complemented by a water-based stain that adds a finishing touch, evoking the geological history of the iconic mountains.
