Muskoka Lakeside Escape

Tucked away in a lakeside community The New York Times calls “Malibu of the North,” this Muskoka vacation home wows with its creative use of painted and natural wood. Here, our European oak flooring makes an appearance in three forms - the custom detailed ceiling, farmhouse inspired walls, and inlaid floor.

Designed by local firm Muskoka Living, this Lake Rosseau cottage packs high design elements into a homey space. The property reflects the homeowner’s dream of a livable cottage with a boutique hotel vibe, tapping into mixed woods, stone, and metal. Richly textured furnishings and a muted palette add intrigue without overpowering the beauty of the materials themselves. By balancing the earthy energy of its surroundings, this stunning cottage is both a place to relax and a place to entertain.

Our Stoneham European oak wide plank flooring offers warmth and a craftsman’s touch in rooms punctuated by dark accents and abundant natural light. Part of the Wixom Collection, this distressed flooring features hand cut bevels, a perfect fit for the unique inlay technique used on the ceiling and floors. Continuing the narrative with Stoneham, Muskoka Living employs the versatile wood for insets alongside the fireplace.

With show stopping views of Lake Rosseau and functionality made for bringing friends and family along, the cozy lakeside cottage is the ultimate retreat. After spending a weekend at this 6200 sq.ft getaway, you might find yourself calling Malibu the Muskoka of the South.
